Food aid flows have been steadily falling since 1988. Although food insecurity has largely unchanged worldwide, this is untrue and is growing in some of the most poorest areas. Although food aids have been declining over time, donors and operational agencies have been increasingly exploring cash transfers.  The result has been differing demand and supply side pressures for increased flexibility in programming options.

This presentation is based on AMA Innovation Lab projects for the Poverty Traps Conference. This conference is a gathering point for USAID and other development assistant agencies to connect the poor to economic growth.
