Bio

Nargiza Ludgate research focuses on food security and gender equality and utilizes mixed methodologies to explain complex issues that surround women’s empowerment, social capital and collective action, role of community-based organizations on women’s leadership potential in patriarchal societies, gender-based violence and intersectionality. She serves as the Co-PI of the IDRC-funded project Advancing Women’s Participation in the Livestock Vaccine Value Chains in Nepal, Senegal and Uganda. She also co-leads the Human and Institutional Capacity Development (HICD) Crosscutting Theme for the USAID Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Livestock Systems. Ludgate holds a Ph.D. in interdisciplinary ecology from the University of Florida and a MBA from the New Mexico State University.
