Elizabeth Bandason is an insect scientist in the Horticulture Department at Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR), Bunda College, Malawi. Her current research interests center on the interface between insects, humans, and the environment. She is mainly focused on eco-friendly insect pest management by targeting insects’ sense of smell. She is also fascinated by the use of beneficial insects for increased income and improved livelihoods while safeguarding ecosystem health. She has won several awards, including the Organisation for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD) Early Career Women Scientists (ECWS) fellowship. Her other significant awards include a Borlaug Higher Education for Agricultural Research and Development (BHEARD) Ph.D. fellowship, Partnership for Increasing the Impact of vector control (PIIVeC), and the African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD) fellowship.
